Hogle Zoo

We took the last Saturday before Drew went back to Michigan to go to the zoo. The girls wanted me to put most of the pictures on the blog because they had so much fun. It was fun, but WAY TOO HOT!

Mackenzie and a very friendly bird who wanted to taste her barrette. We went to the most awesome bird show where the birds swoop right above your heads. In fact they warn you to stay seated and not stand up during the show!

If you look close you can see that the girl standing up is holding out a dollar bill. The bird flew up and grabbed the dollar bill and flew back and put it in the pocket of the guy who was telling us about the birds!

Mackenzie was obsessed with seeing the giraffes, but she was tired and cranky when we got there, which explains the red puffy eyes!

Grandma Knivila, this one is for you. Mackenzie actually touched the snake. I know how much you LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEE snakes!

Back to School

School sure starts really early in Utah. Katie had her first day of school on Aug 15th. Kennedy started on Aug 18th & Mackenzie started Aug 25th. They feel like they were totally jipped (????) out of half of their summer. I am glad to have them busy, even though my butt is starting to become one with the seat of the car. I spend about 3 hours in the car every day driving them back and forth. Hopefully soon we will get a house and the busdriver can take over!!! I don't have Mackenzie's pictures off the camera yet, so I'll add her first day of school pics later.

Katie just about gave me a heart attack taking Mackenzie for a ride on her bike, but Mackenzie thought it was awesomely cool of course!

Go Wildcats

Well, eat your heart out High School Musical Fans! Katie & Mackenzie got to see the school where they filmed the movie! Sharpay & Troy & Gabriella were here dudes! So cool. They called their cousin Hannah who was TOTALLY impressed!

The Golden Soccerball Team

So Mackenzie started her first soccer season this year as a kindergartener. The coach let the kids come up with names for the team and it was down to Green Lightning or the Golden Soccer Ball. I think the coach was a little surprised to have the Golden Soccer Ball win. He tried to make it cool by calling it GSB, but the kids weren't having it. Mackenzie has no clue what she is doing, but she runs up and down the field looking really cute anyway!

So we flew into Utah at 3:00 on Wednesday & Kennedy had soccer practice at 5:00 that night. She needed some encouragement from Katie to get out and practice, but now she loves it. And I love it because after a gazillion years of soccer I finally get to scrapbook PINK soccer shirts!
