Katie's birthday party

Oops, I almost missed putting up the pictures from her birthday party. Somehow we got suckered into letting her have 6 friends sleep over. Although, for there being 7 giggling girls in the basement, it wasn't that loud. Go figure.

Katie & her friends decided on a Barbie theme for her party. I made the lovely cake. Almost as good as Amy Parkers (NOT). Oh well. At least she got a cake.

O Christmas Tree

Putting up the Christmas tree was fun, once we found it. It takes up most of the room once we got it up!

Miscellania

This was to prove to Drew that it is not all in my head, it really is freezing in our bedroom when we get up. Just like Iceland in our room. I am blogging it so he will feel guilty enough to finally go get a space heater!!!!!
This is the Lehi Roller Mills lit up for Christmas. For those of you who don't know, it's where they filmed the movie Footloose.

Mackenzie is reading books all the time now. She loves books. Which is a good thing, since we have so many of them.
All I have to say about this pictures is.... What a goofball!!!

Live Nativity

We went to a live nativity with Kennedy & Mackenzie that was sooooo cool. (Katie was at YW) We got to ride to it in a horse trailer, hike up a hill & walk thru a barn that had all kinds of stalls set up like you were walking through Bethlehem. They even had a real camel to pet! This roman soldier was riding his ginormous horse around asking if anyone had seen the baby Jesus.
They had a real baby for the baby Jesus.

Kenzie with the camel.

Petting a goat.
Kennedy always gets the animals to smile with her for her pictures. I don't know how she does it!!!

An Official Teenager

Katie is now an official teenager. Yikes. I don't know what to say except, YIKES! For her birthday she has been wanting to get highlights. Since Drew & I could not think of anything better to get her, we decided to get her highlights. So I totally surprised her by saying "GET IN THE CAR NOW" then we drove to Provo to a cosmetology school. However, she surprised me by wanting PURPLE highlights instead of blonde. Many people have shook their heads in shock over my decision to let her do purple (Drew being one of them) but if this is her big teenage rebellion thing, then who cares, it's purple stripes. No biggie. Plus she loves them & they are something that someday she will look at pictures of and say WHAT WAS I THINKING. So it's all good.

Happy Turkey Day

We had dinner at Craig & Karol's house for Thanksgiving. The girls had a fun time playing with Bailey. And the food was delicious (all but the yukky turkey!)

Kennedy had a 3rd grade Thanksgiving Program at school. She wore a costume that I made a few years ago. They sang some really cute songs-one was about Albuquerque the Turkey who wanted to be the pet and not the main course of the Thanksgiving meal. It was a cute program.

Kennedy didn't have a speaking part in the play, but she did get to help paint the sets.

Kid Bathroom

We got the kids bathroom decorated. It's very cute & girly.

Grandma Knivila's Visit

Grandma Knivila just flew back home today & the girls already miss her. We crammed alot of fun stuff into the 10 days she was here & still managed to get a bunch of boxes unpacked. She got Kennedy a Build-a-Bear for her birthday.
Mackenzie got her Build a Bear for an early Christmas present.

We went on a tour of the Conference Center at Temple Square. None of us had ever been in it before.
The view from the roof of the Conference Center.

Cool Stained Glass in the Skylights.

I had no idea this was so huge!

Grandpa Kienitz made these gates at the Temple. The girls thought it was really cool.

Salt Lake Temple.

They already have the Nativity set up on Temple Square.

Saying goodbye to Grandma at the airport.

Grandma wanted to have a birthday party for Katie & Kennedy while she was here. We got a yummy cake from the Lehi Bakery.
Grandma read a story to Kennedy's class. Kennedy wanted her to see her classroom.

She also read Pinkalicious to Mackenzie's class.
