Rednecks Go Green Dinner Theme

Explanation: Once a month we get together for a family dinner with Drew's Mom & Dad, his Aunt Linda & Cousin Jodie. When Craig and Karol host we have fancy plates that match and pretty centerpieces. When Jodie or Linda host we have a THEMED dinner. Example: the one before us was Asian. We had paper swans, handwrapped cheater chopsticks, fancy napkins (Asian looking naturally) and this fancy food that was like REAL ASIAN FOOD. So we decided to bring out own style out for our next turn. The girls and I had a BLAST with this. We were going to do Hobos Go Green, but decided that wasn't really p/c. So we went with Rednecks go green. We thank our neighbors for the donation of the old pair of jeans that we used for the tablerunner and placemats & green checked napkins. The flowers are biodegradable kleenex and the fancy centerpiece was put together by Kennedy & Mackenze. On the menu was roadkill, in case you are wondering.......

Home Improvement?

Being such a home improvement kinda girl (stop laughing people!) Katie and I decided to finally tackle this fireplace project that I have put off since we moved in. I really thought this would look cool in a venetian plaster/ terracotta color. Yeah. If we had read and followed the directions it may have looked like venetian plaster. We have more of that "caveman early fingerpainting" look going on. Plus when it dried it was too light. So we are going to STAIN it. Yep. It's just gonna get purtier...... Really Drew. Why do you doubt me?????
