Happy Birthday to Kennedy

Kennedy turned nine & so in the midst of the house drama, we had birthday cake & presents. Happy Birthday Kennedy! Birthday Jello Poke Cake
Kennedy requested quiche for her birthday dinner.

She has been wanting a real china tea set ever since she saw one in a store for $75. I managed to find a more appropriate set for a 9 year old.

Kennedy with her blue streaks in her hair.

Kennedy with her Hannah Montana blue hair streak stuff. She has wanted this stuff ever since her friend Morgan had some in Michigan.

Birthday necklace from Grandma K.

Goofy sister.

About to burst from all the excitement of opening presents!

Surprise! Kennedy also got snow for her birthday. They thought it was great. I was not so happy since it required a quick trip to Walgreens to get hats & gloves!

The frosty morning snow as I drove them to school the morning of her birthday.

Birthday breakfast that Grandma Smedley bravely went to the bakery to get for us. Cinnamon rolls as requested.
Katie gave her the Camp Rock video.

Mackenzie gave her a bat Webkinz that she named Batty (yes JD-it's named after BatCat!)

Wood Floors!!!!!

So I try to get some pictures of the help & look at the cooperation I get! Sheesh. All I can say to these guys is "You can run, but you can't hide from my camera!!!!! HAHAAHHAHAHAHAH!" Drew is getting the wood floor installed today. He sacrificed a smashed finger to the cause so far. Ouch! It is looking great. We have to get most of it done tonight because they are coming to install the carpet in the bedrooms tomorrow & then we load the truck in the P.M. & unload it at the house Saturday morning. So far it has been extremely exhausting, but it is looking great!
Hardee Har Har John. Betcha never thought I would blog this picture anyway!!!

Drew's Dad was not so cooperative with the photos either!

This was the tricky part of the wood, cutting for around the fireplace. I LOVE the color, plus we got it for an awesome deal!

Drew, working hard.

Trying to get the color of the wood to show. It goes perfectly with the cabinets in the kitchen & the paint on the walls.

And another HaHaHa John, I found the picture from the tile cutting. Thanks for all the help!

Drew and the nail gun. It's majorly loud. I hope he doesn't hurt his ears with it!

More Mackenzie Dance

It seems that every time there is parent observation day at dance Mackenzie is wearing wild tights. Oh well. It shows that she has personality, right? We had her cousin Hannah with us for dance class & she got to watch Mackenzie dance & play with the hula hoops too.

House Update Day 7

We accomplished a ton on Day 7 of THE HOUSE. We had Mike & Mindy & Drew's friend John, Craig & Karol & all of the kids working on it. Almost all of the painting is done in the whole house. The tile is cut & laid. We are making great progress. This is the playroom. The paint dried and actually looks purple instead of like chocolate now.
This is my pink scrapbook room. So pretty in pink.
Katie's room. She chose the colors to match her bedspread.
The kitchen with the tile.
Poor Baby Hyrum wondering what the heck is going on......
Mackenzie's room. It's hard to see the color, but she picked Tinkerbell Green. The kids helped paint their own rooms.
This is the tile in the formerly moldy bathroom. Mindy helped Drew clean off the grout.

Kennedy's room with the bay window & the yellow paint color she chose herself.
These are the colors that will be in mine & Drew's bedroom. The green color is called "Drew". So naturally we had to pick that color! The brown is chopstick.
Katie & Hyrum.
A better view of the paint color in our bedroom-the Drew green.
A close-up of our bathroom tile. It looks more yellow in the picture than it actually is. It's more gray.
The entrance from our bedroom into our bathroom.
Drew's office.
Mike put down all of the tile in the kitchn. Without his help we would still be laying tile for the next 2 weeks.
Mackenzie painting her own room.

Her hands got tired, so she delegated her painting to Jacob. He painted most of Mackenzie's room & half of Kennedy's room!
Rachel helped Katie paint her room. I say helped, but really Katie just delegated the whole thing to grandma & Rachel & stood around supervising!!!!!!
But I did manage to get a picture with a paintbrush in her hand.
Jacob painting Kenzie's room.

Hannah wanted to help paint too, so Kennedy let her paint her walls. She did a pretty good job!

The paint in our bathroom is a shade lighter than Drew Green. It looks really good with the white tub & silver in the room. It's going to be so great to finally have a master bathroom & a walk in closet. I have waited 16 years for this!!!!!!

Kennedy chose Manchu for her wall color. She wanted it to look beachy, but it was brighter than she expected. However, I think she is going to like it.

Drew measuring the kitchen tile to cut. John did most of the cutting of the tile & I just accidentally erased the picture I took. Again, without his help we would have had another week of work with Drew having to do it all by himself! So thanks everyone for your super hard work. I also just realized I don't have pics of Craig & Karol, but they have done most of the painting in the house, so thanks a bunch everyone! We couldn't have gotten this far without you!!!!!
